One of the Consortium's founding members, Dr. Hany Khalil, served as Chair of the Department of Food Science at Al Ain, U.A.E. The focus was to restructure the academic program to focus on value added agriculture in order to meet the growing needs of the U.A.E. Agricultural Initiative.
