Paul Sommers of member university California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, conducted an in-depth value chain assessment last year of the fruit and vegetable sector of Sri Lanka in order to identify opportunities and constraints in post-conflict zones. In addition, he developed a horticulture strategy and plan of action to enhance the competitiveness of the sector and develop high value horticulture crops. The program was funded by USAID.
